Our Commitment
Puget Sound AI LLC builds AI and automation systems for government agencies that operate under Section 508 requirements. We hold our own website to the same standard we bring to client work: WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, keyboard accessibility, and compatibility with assistive technologies including screen readers.
This is not a legal disclaimer. It is a demonstration of the discipline we apply to every system we deliver.
Conformance Status
This website targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance and is designed to meet Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. The following measures have been implemented sitewide:
Perceivable
- All non-text content (images, icons, SVGs) has a text alternative via
altattributes oraria-label. Decorative SVGs usearia-hidden="true". - Color is never the sole means of conveying information. All status indicators use text labels in addition to color.
- Text contrast ratios meet or exceed 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and UI components against their backgrounds.
- Content is readable and functional at 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
- Animations respect
prefers-reduced-motion. All scroll-triggered reveals and SVG animations are suppressed when the user has requested reduced motion; content is immediately visible.
Operable
- All functionality is accessible via keyboard. No keyboard traps exist outside intentional modal focus traps (mobile navigation), which release on Escape.
- A visible skip-to-content link is provided and activates on keyboard focus.
- Tab order follows the visual reading order of each page.
- Focus indicators are visible on every interactive element: minimum 2px outline in a high-contrast accent color on all browsers.
- Navigation links have a minimum 44×44px touch/click target.
- The mobile navigation drawer is keyboard-accessible, supports Escape to close, and returns focus to the trigger button on close.
- No content flashes more than three times per second.
- No auto-playing media or audio exists on this site.
Understandable
- The page
langattribute is set toensitewide. - Each page has a unique, descriptive
<title>. - There is exactly one
<h1>per page. Heading levels are sequential with no skips. - Form fields have visible, persistent labels. Placeholder text is not used as a substitute for a label.
- Inline validation errors appear below the relevant field and describe both the problem and the required correction. The first invalid field receives focus on submission.
- Form submission confirmation and error messages use
aria-liveregions and are announced to screen readers without requiring a page reload. - The contact form copy-to-clipboard actions confirm success via an
aria-liveregion.
Robust
- HTML is valid and well-structured. Landmark regions (
<main>,<nav>,<footer>) are used throughout. - Interactive components use semantic HTML elements (
<button>,<details>/<summary>,<a>) with appropriate ARIA attributes where HTML semantics alone are insufficient. - FAQ accordions use native
<details>/<summary>elements, which are supported by all modern assistive technologies without custom JavaScript. - The site does not rely on JavaScript for access to any primary content. All pages render and are navigable with JavaScript disabled.
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following areas under active review:
- PDF Capability Statement: The downloadable Capability Statement PDF has not been assessed for PDF/UA accessibility. Users who require an accessible version should contact us directly at jacob@pugetsoundai.com and an accessible format will be provided.
- Third-party booking widget: The Microsoft Outlook booking page linked from the primary CTA is operated by Microsoft and is not under our control. Microsoft's own accessibility statement applies to that experience.
If you encounter a barrier not listed above, please report it using the feedback method below.
Technical Environment
This website has been tested against the following environments:
- NVDA + Chrome (Windows)
- Narrator + Edge (Windows)
- VoiceOver + Safari (macOS/iOS)
- Keyboard-only navigation (no assistive technology)
- 200% browser zoom
- Windows High Contrast Mode
Assessment Approach
Accessibility conformance of this website was assessed by the site owner through:
- Self-evaluation using automated tools (Lighthouse, axe DevTools)
- Manual keyboard navigation testing
- Screen reader testing with NVDA and Narrator
- Color contrast analysis using WCAG contrast ratio tools
- Review against the WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria checklist
