Short answer
Usually, yes. Federal purchases at or below the micro-purchase threshold, $15,000 since October 1, 2025, can be paid by government purchase card. Every single Puget Sound AI training session is priced below that threshold, from $2,500 for a half day to $8,500 for a two-day cohort.
The thresholds that matter
- Micro-purchase threshold: $15,000. Raised from $10,000 in FAR 2.101, effective October 1, 2025. Purchases at or below it can be made by an authorized cardholder without full competition.
- Simplified acquisition threshold: $350,000. Raised from $250,000 on the same date. Readiness reviews, rollout programs, and builds usually fit here under FAR Part 13.
What fits on a card
One training session is one purchase. A half-day Copilot Essentials session at $2,500, a full-day Power Automate workshop at $4,500, or the two-day Copilot Studio cohort at $8,500 each sit under the threshold with room for on-site travel, which is billed at cost and written into the quote.
Do not split a requirement
Agencies may not break one requirement into several smaller purchases to stay under a threshold. If you need to train every staff member, admin, and leader as one program, buy it as one requirement, usually under simplified acquisition. We quote it as a single rollout program.
State and local agencies
The FAR thresholds apply to federal buyers. State, county, and city governments set their own purchase card limits and procurement rules. Check with your purchasing office. A fixed written quote works under either set of rules.
