Azure AI Foundry for GCC
Production AI engineering with Azure AI Foundry inside the government community cloud. Grounded models, Purview data controls, and FedRAMP-authorized deployment for government agencies. VOSB, SAM active.
Azure AI Foundry in the GCC Context
FedRAMP authorization does not guarantee GCC readiness. Both matter.
Azure AI Foundry (formerly Azure AI Studio) gives government agencies access to enterprise AI model deployment, grounding, and orchestration capabilities inside Azure Government. When paired with Microsoft 365 GCC, it provides the model inference layer behind Copilot Studio agents, RAG pipelines, and custom AI workflows without data leaving the government boundary.
The engineering challenge is not the model: it is the data path. Grounding an AI model against government data requires Purview-classified document stores, controlled vector index construction, and retrieval pipelines that respect the same data residency and access controls as the underlying M365 tenant. That integration work is where most projects stall.
What this engagement covers
- Azure AI Foundry deployment in Azure Government (GCC-aligned)
- Model grounding against SharePoint, Exchange, and internal document stores
- Vector index construction with Purview classification controls
- RAG pipeline integration with Copilot Studio agents
- Citation-bound retrieval: verbatim source, not generated summary
- Audit logging for every model inference and document retrieval
- Data residency verification and compliance documentation
Engagement Path
Azure AI Foundry work is typically scoped as part of a broader GCC AI Jumpstart ($40,000 to $60,000) when the requirement includes custom model grounding alongside Copilot Studio agents. Standalone AI Foundry integrations for agencies with existing agent infrastructure start with a scoping conversation.
If your agency is evaluating whether AI Foundry is the right approach versus native Copilot Studio RAG, the GCC AI Readiness Assessment includes that architectural decision as part of its scope.
